Towards Your Success: Part 2 1

1.Success is in The Mind:

We all have questions like: why some people are successful while others are not? Why some persons achieve what they want with relative ease while to others it is a huge struggle? Is it possible that we learn these laws and become successful?

The most important thing that you have to know is that no one can define for you what success is. Always remember that it is only you who can understand what success is and what it means to you.

All success begins in your mind. It is how you use your thinking and what direction you lead it to. Thoughts are like the steering wheel that moves our life in the right direction. If you can control your thoughts and mind in a way that avoids negative states, you will rise above any obstacles. Through the ability of thought you can defeat negative influences in life. To make the most success potential in your life you have to plan how to get it. This can be done by determining goals, setting up plans, and reflecting with other people. Change your thinking from wishing and hoping to thinking and doing. Autosuggestion is very helpful, according to Napoleon Hill because by repeating your thoughts, you will create a habit.

2.Successful People:

They have a positive attitude and think about the opportunities of tomorrow rather than focusing on the problems of the past.

They work out of passion. They like what they do. According to Steve Jobs “People with passion can change the world for the better.” Jobs has followed his heart his entire life and that passion, he says, has made all the difference.

Successful people always compare themselves with other successful people. They model them: read about them, study their performances and do what they do, and then they seek to surpass them one step at a time.

They view the world as full of opportunities and possibilities rather than problems. They look for the positive in every situation and every person. They recognize the valuable lessons contained in every problem or setback. They don’t see failure as a failure but see it as a learning experience. If things today didn’t turn out as they hoped, tomorrow is a new opportunity to do it differently. They interpret each failure as a lesson on the road to success.

According to Cherie Carter-Scott “Ordinary people believe only in the possible. Extraordinary people visualize not what is possible or probable, but rather what is impossible. And by visualizing the impossible, they begin to see it as possible.”

3.Success and Failure:

Failure is necessary and sometimes inevitable. Very few people get it right the first time. Failure is only part of the journey to success. The reason you are hearing about it as a success story is because those people saw failure as a tool to get it right. As Tony Robbins puts it “The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you're in control of your life. If you don't, life controls you”. There are many stories about successful people who found success but only after tasting failure. Here are few examples:

Walt Disney : He invented Disney World and Mickey Mouse. His first animation company went bankrupt. He was turned down many times before he got financing for creating Disney World.

Winston Churchill: was defeated in every public office role he ran for. He became the British prime minister at the age of 62.

Oprah Winfrey: She was fired at the age of 22 as a TV reporter. Later, her show became dominant for 25 years.

Colonel Sanders: The founder of KFC. He started his dream at 65 years old! At first, 1000 restaurants rejected him, before finally one restaurant accepted his recipe.

Elvis Presley: He was fired in 1954 as being not good in his performance. He became one of the best-selling artists of all time.

Albert Einstein: He was unable to speak fluently until age 12. His teachers thought he was mentally handicapped. His theory of relativity had exceptional impact on modern physics. Later he received the Nobel Prize.

Steven Spielberg: One of Hollywood's best known directors. He was rejected from his dream school, the University of Southern California, three times. Instead he went to Cal State University in Long Beach, and dropped out later.

4.Develop Gratitude:

Changing your mental attitude will also need changing your emotional attitude. When both of your mental & emotional attitudes are positive and united (in NLP it is called congruent), you will create an irresistible force towards success. Changing your mental attitude is not as easy as changing your emotional attitude. You need to get rid of negative emotions, and adopt a sense of gratitude. One of the strongest positive feelings that can affect your life is to operate of out of gratitude. According to Oprah Winfrey: “Be thankful for what you have, you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never have enough.”

You can feel grateful in your heart and reflect it in your mind until it becomes a mental attitude. As Wallace D. Wattles said: “The grateful mind is constantly fixated upon the best. Therefore it tends to become the best. It takes the form or character from the best and will receive the best.”

Practice gratitude as a daily exercise. Thank God for all you have, for all the abilities that you posses and for what you can & will achieve. Combine positive expectations with feeling of deep gratitude. When you think the best of you, when you expect the best of life, when you think positively of your direction & your goals, and then feel thankful for what you have, you are in the direction towards your success.

If you combine positive mental attitude with positive emotional attitude, you will be oriented towards your success.

To believe in your potential success, you must have a dream. Make that dream specific and it becomes a goal. Keep thinking about your goal, then you create a set of enabling beliefs. Enabling beliefs will create self-confidence. With self-confidence you create conviction and strong will. This will lead you to action. Ultimately, success is within your reach. Your dream will materialize in reality.

No Matter what obstacles may come in your way or what failure you might encounter

Success will meet you sometime, somehow & somewhere.
