The Lovely Journey of Personal Change*


 

*This is part 3 of the series: The Journey of Change

We all want to change at least one thing in our life. It can be our mood, eating habit, driving behavior, emotional reaction, spending habit, relationship pattern… etc.

We may succeed for a while, but that is not enough. That is not what we consider as a permanent change. We want long lasting change  that really enhances our life. We need that type of change that can alter our life’s direction towards what we want.

To program yourself for permanent change…………..you need to stop fighting against yourself. This inner battle inside you……….will make it harder for you to change………………for all reasons that are beyond your awareness………respect yourself and recognize those inner conflicting emotions……..they are there for a reason………………just be kind to yourself and realize that you were born special………you are different and special

 

 

Let the process of change starts without inner struggle…………..allow change to happen by itself………..let change unfolds naturally………..

Change will happen ..but slowly and gradually………..only take small steps…..baby steps………..only take one step at a time………….

Change is not linear………..

What does that mean?

It means it does not happen as one plus one equals two…………..it means it is not automatic….it means if you change something today ….that will not result in a different outcome tomorrow……………change takes time……and it takes repetition…………………but one day that baby step that you took…….will result in that change……it is according to the universal law of cause and effect………..it is congruent with the saying ”as you sow ….you will reap”

You see, we humans are controlled and directed by these universal laws of life…….we can not resist them……we can not fight against them………….but we only can obey them.

Let your change be congruent and compatible with these laws.

Once you begin your journey for change………..keep your belief strong……….just believe that you can…..you can change

 

The power of belief is extremely strong. According to Napoleon Hill  "You can do it if you believe you can."

 

Your change is personal, meaning it is for you and about you only. Therefore, once you begin this journey, make sure that you do not pay attention to what people say behind you.

 

 

Long lasting change needs the passion for change.

Focus on your journey…………try to make that journey as enjoyable as possible……..see it, not as a ‘should’………..although it is rationally and consciously is a definite ‘should’……….you want to feel it ………..you want to sense it unconsciously as a lovely journey…..something that you can enjoy and have fun with……you may want to imagine it and focus on the beauty of the road…something that will increase your motivation for that journey

 

 

 Zig Ziglar had this quote about the change "You are what you are and where you are because of what has gone into your mind. You can change what you are and where you are by changing what goes into your mind."

 

Once you hit the road and begin this lovely journey, just remember that change is gradual

Change will happen if you allow it to happen

Let that process of change begin, and believe that one day you will change.

One day you will win, not immediately, but slowly and definitely.

 

 

 

Abraham Lincoln once said "I am a slow walker … but I never walk backwards."
